Japanese robot manufacturer Tmsuk has introduced a robotic “watchdog” that promises to keep an eye on the home-front while your away, with its built-in infra-red sensors and cameras. Roborior might not slide off the tongue as easily as “Robosapien” but former might turn out to be a lot more useful in day to day life. The virtual sentry is capable of calling your cell phone when an intruder trips one of its three infra-red sensors. If you just want to check-in and see if the kids made it home safely, you can view the robots camera feed via the net, and even adjust the cameras point of view remotely. The Roborior goes on sale later this year in Japan, no plans for overseas sales were announced at this time.
